Violent Night hits theaters on Dec. 2, 2022. Review by Matt Donato.
In Violent Night, nothing is calm and fiery explosions are vivid. Director Tommy Wirkola protects sentimental vacation cheer inside a David Harbour showcase that will get nuttier than peanut brittle. Wirkola would not maintain again as Home Alone turns into a graphic traps-that-kill homage or Santa pulverizes bone below heavy metal, embracing the B-Movie extremes that greater than earn its arduous “R” ranking. Violent Night may take a sizzling minute to seek out its footing and retains plucking low-hanging wordplay sugar plums, however at full energy, no one’s stopping Santa from making this 12 months the reddest Christmas possible.
