The metaverse comes for Mythic Quest in first season 3 teaser

On Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, the creators of Mythic Quest launched a brand new have a look at the very totally different world of season 3 — even when it has the same old HR complaints. It was additionally introduced that the Apple TV Plus present, created by Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, and Rob McElhenney, can be returning for a 3rd season this fall.

In the teaser, we see a glimpse of the brand new glossy new gaming studio Ian and Poppy have based — Grimpop, per the ludicrously sci-fi decal on the wall — together with a few of their forays into the metaverse. But whereas the corporate could also be new, there’s nonetheless plenty of shit taking place at Mythic Quest HQ, together with an HR assembly the place everybody appears just a little at fault (in fact) and Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike and, very briefly, Justice League).

McElhenney stars as Ian Grimm, the artistic director of a video games studio behind a well-liked MMORPG. Charlotte Nicdao performs Poppy, the studio’s lead engineer and co-creative director, who typically butts heads with Ian over… something. Given that the brand new season’s tagline is “Breakups are hard. Working together is harder,” it appears unlikely that’s going to alter. Community’s Danny Pudi and David Hornsby (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) play Brad and David, respectively, who make up what we see of the enterprise aspect of the Mythic Quest firm.

After the top of the second season noticed plenty of upheaval for the Mythic Quest crew — Brad was arrested for insider buying and selling, Ian and Poppy left to start out their new enterprise — season 3 has so much to choose up from. Someone who will likely be lacking in the brand new season is F. Murray Abraham’s Carl Longbottom. Although Abraham was a major solid member for the first two seasons, Lionsgate confirmed in April that he wouldn’t be returning to the present. No cause was given for his departure, and his disappearance isn’t addressed in the teaser both.

While Mythic Quest isn’t fairly the breakout hit that Ted Lasso has been for Apple, it’s actually been nicely acquired: The present boasts 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and managed final 12 months to get Sir Anthony Hopkins (alongside McElhenney, no matter) to announce that Apple had picked the present up for two extra seasons, bringing the full to 4.
