The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Jan. 20, 2023. Review by Rafael Motamayor.
Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina is larger, meaner, and funnier than its predecessor, shifting away from the prologue to a correct fantasy epic with a number of areas, a grand quest, and character facet missions. Despite an overabundance of tropes, the season will get by because of its charming voice forged and endearing characters, which get deepened in thrilling methods this season.

This show is on the level of hotd in the fantasy and adaptation wise
10/10 Masterpiece from IGN, easily destroy Batman dark knight and DC’s joker
Why put a review out when it's not even out for everyone? Cheaters.
Reminder: Series is out January 20th and I've read it will be same format as last time. 3 episode batches each week for 4 weeks running for a total of twelve episodes. Might be better to wait till it's all out and binge it/watch it over a single week. Whatever works for you. And Season 3 is already confirmed and is supposed to continue/conclude the arc. Also thanks for the review Rafael Motamayor.
Season 2 isn't out yet. Shouldn't have a review of it till AFTER all the episodes are released.
LESSSS GOOOO RAHHHHHH
The whole season is reviewed in one go? Is it gonna release in one drop?
YES! 🔥
Didn’t even know it was out
You keep mentioning tropes as a "just a given" reason to dock points but don't explain what the big deal is.
It's a comedy based on a game that relies on tropes for its core mechanics. Of course there are going to be tropes
This is the same company that is behind superjail animation so I'm definitely trusting them with this I'm excited for this honestly it's going to be a blast
can we not get a review 4 days before anyone else gets to watch it
To be fair, the "Liberties on the source material" are not only because D&D isn't conductive to 30 minute TV episodes, but also the fact that they are pulling any and all D&D references from the show itself. Certain monsters such as the conflict with the Beholder, and references to Vecna and Orcus will be removed, and some story will be changed around to fit.
Hey wait what about romantic stories?
there is a season 2?!!!😬😬😬😬😬
And this is the reason why this show works from the Podcast/YouTube livestream. Cause we could explored the world within this version.
Victor is confirmed my FAVORITE NPC
I'm already predicting the end part of Season 2.
For a clue, check out the episode of Critical Role called: The Bard's Lament.
Not to be that person, but all the items you call McGuffins are not a actual McGuffins
A real / original MacGuffin is an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself.
Eg: the One Piece = McGuffins
Eg : the one ring = No McGuffins
Some people may say otherwise but I'm going with the original definition
Can't wait for this season on Friday.
Unlike Velma this show is actually pleasing.
Hope it beats velma and the last wish.
Anyone in the comments know if the whole season will be released or will it be an episode every Friday?
Yet Velma gets a 6 really???
Hey! It’s not even Friday yet!
Kinda glad they seem to have truncated this season, actually. There was a LOT of crosstalk and mini goals the players were involved in.
And taking those creative liberties makes the story more fresh. For instance, it was VAX who had the idea of going inside the dragon. Considering he is being characterized as much more level-headed in this go around, it makes more sense for Scalan to make that suggestion.
Sad thing that there won't be a season three. All thanks to Wizards of the Coast screwing up D&D and HBO inventing the death of animation
Part of what makes this great is the fact that it is animated. That allows the epic scenes and the goofy ones to feel just as in place; you can't get that with love action, sadly
Part of what makes them great is their takes on tropes, heck some of the characters themselves are tropes and they use that to their advantage!
Tropes exist for a reason. It’s literally impossible to avoid all tropes and be enjoyable.
ok so how are you reviewing this before its out….. WTF
Bidet and beep beep!
cant wait!
How did a one off turn into a TV series?
How DARE the creators and actors of the source material change the original story?!!?
I’m just glad there’s more animated shows for adults that are successful, we need more things like this.
20th January? Well… Is it Friday yet?
