Minnesota RØKKR dominate OpTic Texas at CDL Major in first match since controversial forfeit

The Minnesota RØKKR punched their ticket to the winners bracket finals on the Call of Duty League Boston Major with an emphatic 3-0 victory over OpTic Texas right now.

The matchup between Texas and Minnesota is the primary time the 2 groups have performed since a controversial match within the season’s first set of qualifying matches that noticed OpTic forfeit the match after the league determined a map wanted to be replayed due to an in-game glitch.

Texas have gone via substantial adjustments since then, because the group has seen the benching of Dashy and the following retirement of Scump.

“Obviously, that was a lot of drama. I got a lot of hate. It was quite absurd, to be honest,” Minnesota’s AR Cammy instructed Dot Esports after the victory. “I won the rematch, so that’s all that matters.”

There was no drama this time round. The sequence was not significantly shut in both the scoreboard or slaying statistics as all 4 members of the RØKKR completed with a optimistic rating, whereas all 4 members of OpTic completed with destructive stats.

The sequence began with a aggressive opening on the Hotel Hardpoint as each groups had been jostling for place. But early within the map, Minnesota started to outpace Texas and began to chain a number of kills collectively. Ultimately, the RØKKR pulled away en path to a 250-189 victory, giving Minnesota a 1-0 sequence lead.

The Embassy Search and Destroy was a detailed affair, tied at three rounds apiece—however similar to the earlier map, Minnesota started to drag away. They rattled off three straight rounds to clinch the map by a rating of 6-3 and put themselves in place to shut the sequence out on the El Asilo Control in map three.

Minnesota appeared decided to not give OpTic the chance to reverse sweep as they did to Atlanta FaZe final week. A 3-1 victory on Control clinched the 3-0 sequence victory that punched the RØKKR’s ticket to Championship Sunday.

Minnesota will tackle Atlanta with a spot within the Boston Major grand finals on the road on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12:30pm CT. With this defeat, OpTic fall to the elimination bracket and can face the hometown Boston Breach later right now with their event lives on the road.
