M. Night Shyamalan’s newest twisted journey, Knock on the Cabin, is all a couple of household trip gone incorrect — not utterly dissimilar from his newest horror flick, Old. But Knock on the Cabin’s household isn’t being tortured by the sands of time made manifest. No, Shyamalan’s newest villain is much extra horrifying: Dave Bautista in a tucked-in button down. The movie hits theaters on Feb. 3, 2023.
In the trailer for Knock on the Cabin, two fathers take their daughter to a distant cabin within the woods. After some lakeside shenanigans, the trio is set-upon by a gaggle of 4 mysterious characters, led by Bautista’s mild-mannered Leonard. After knocking on the door of the household’s cabin — whereas armed to the enamel — Bautista’s crew reveals that the household should make an “unthinkable choice,” lest they unleash the apocalypse upon us all.
In addition to the WWE-Superstar-turned-actor, the movie stars Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, The Matrix Resurrections), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old), Abby Quinn (Little Women, Landline), and newcomer Kristen Cui.
The screenplay was written by Shyamalan, Steve Desmond, and Michael Sherman. The movie is an adaptation of the ebook The Cabin on the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. Shyamalan can be producing Knock on the Cabin, alongside a few of his earlier producers, Marc Bienstock and Ashwin Rajan.
