Knives Out’s Rian Johnson is making a mystery-a-week detective show

Between the brand new Knives Out sequel Glass Onion and the upcoming sequence Poker Face, director Rian Johnson is going all in on the procedural detective style. Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) and parade of A-list visitor stars like Adrian Brody, Ron Perlman, and Tim Blake Nelson, bought its first teaser trailer on Wednesday. It already appears to be like like a delight. The sequence is set to debut on Peacock on Jan. 26.

Poker Face follows Lyonne as Charlie, a detective with “an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying.” Armed with that uncanny expertise, Charlie hits the street to resolve crimes, giving the show the proper excuse for its basic TV fashion mystery-a-week format. Along the best way, she meets celeb visitor stars who may very well be victims, suspects, or one thing in between.

Johnson created, wrote, and directed the sequence, with Lyonne onboard as an govt producer in addition to the sequence’ star. Poker Face is set for a 10-episode run, with the primary 4 installments premiering on Jan. 26 when the sequence launches, and the remaining airing on Thursdays.
