On the heels of Thursday’s report that Wonder Woman 3 shouldn’t be transferring ahead in its present type, James Gunn took to Twitter in his function as an government and co-head of DC Studios to make clear. That undertaking being canceled, together with a slew of different potential DC film updates had been first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Gunn, for his half, took to Twitter, writing that a few of it “is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.”
Confused? Gunn additional elaborated on Twitter that after he and producer Peter Safran selected to take the reins of the Warner Bros. Discovery division in October that they “chose to helm DC Studios knowing we were coming into a fractious environment, both in the stories being told and in the audience itself.” Gunn continued that each executives had been conscious “there would be an unavoidable transitional period as we moved into telling a cohesive story across film, TV, animation and gaming… But, in the end, the drawbacks of that transitional period were dwarfed by the creative possibilities and the opportunity to build upon what has worked in DC so far and to help rectify what has not.”
So. As for the story yesterday within the Hollywood Reporter, a few of it’s true, a few of it’s half-true, a few of it’s not true, & a few of it we haven’t determined but whether or not it’s true or not.

Closing out the thread–and persevering with a long-standing custom Gunn has had of participating straight with followers on questions they’ve about his films and enterprise as a storyteller–the director/government mentioned that he is aware of he and Safran “are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the story and in service of the DC characters we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives.”
Beyond that, Gunn added, all different questions on the way forward for the DC Universe should wait. They are nonetheless figuring this all out internally, Gunn defined. Gunn and Safran are, in line with Variety, anticipated to current their complete plan for the DCU to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav someday subsequent week.
So which stories are true, and which are not? That’s the query we’re all left to determine ourselves for now. However, ultimately Gunn and Safran’s plans for the DC movie and TV universe ought to come into sharper focus.
