Game of Thrones' branching narrative wasn't a drawback.
IGN has to ask us because they probably rated both a 7.
GOT= better main characters, better side characters, humor, multiple interesting storylines.
HOTD= better cinematography, costumes, possibly better score, better dragons, better sets.

Literally no comparison. GoT had amazing writing, and genuine surprises. This show is just imitation, with zero surprises.
Both were excellent but rough comparison since HOTD has a way better budget for their first season

HoD was boring as hell. Characters, plot, directing. Better pick up next season or im done with it.

First season of GoT is basically a perfect adaptation. I’d argue the first four seasons are but definitely the first season
HoD is not even close to the early seasons of GoT.
