Harrison Ford joins the MCU, taking over a long-time Marvel role

Harrison Ford is formally becoming a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadline stories. He will tackle the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, which was originated in the MCU by the late William Hurt in The Incredible Hulk (2008). Ford’s first look as Ross will are available 2024’s Captain America: New World Order. The character usually seems throughout the MCU, so it’s doubtless Ford will proceed to reprise the role — particularly in the upcoming Thunderbolts film, which is predicated on a staff of anti-heroes led by General “Thunderbolt” himself.

Captain America: New World Order will function Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as Captain America. Also confirmed to hitch the forged are Tim Blake Nelson, who will probably be reprising his role of the Leader; Danny Ramirez, who performs Joaquín Torres, a character who appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and is at the moment the new Falcon; and Shira Haas, who will play Israeli superhero Sabra.
